The Valkyries will celebrate their bestie Violet’s birthday at Chase Center with a disco-themed birthday bash when they face the Chicago Sky on Wednesday, August 12. Violet embodies the essence of the Valkyries, captains the Flock and delights in inspiring basketball fans with her exciting performances and acrobatic skills. She brings Ballhalla to life with her infectious energy and positive vibes. Vi hatched out of a violet egg outside Chase Center and was first introduced to Ballhalla during the Valkyries’ game against the Connecticut Sun last season. Violet is a raven, and in Norse mythology, ravens are commonly known as Valkyries’ helpful, savvy sidekick and are guardians of good fortune.

In celebration of Violet’s special day, the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Violet bobblehead, presented by DoorDash. Several notable Bay Area mascots will be in attendance for Vi’s birthday bash, including Sourdough Sam of the San Francisco 49ers, Lou Seal of the San Francisco Giants, Sharkie of the San Jose Sharks, Mav’riks of the Santa Cruz Warriors and Q of the San Jose Earthquakes. Fans will be able to sign her birthday card, make friendship bracelets and put on some sparkly birthday face paint beginning at 4:30 p.m. PT in Thrive City before heading into the arena. There will also be an on-screen printing postcard station with Haight St Art Center and a big Violet photo op. Violet will have party gifts for the Valkyries players as they enter the arena — they will receive violet boas fit for a birthday celebration. Fans are also encouraged to come dressed in shiny and sparkly attire and there will be plenty of Violet birthday merchandise, including T-shirts, crewnecks, hats, jerseys and more available at the Golden State Shop. Inside the arena, the food and beverage menu features a Violet twist, with Violet souvenir cups for drinks, birthday popcorn buckets for just $1 courtesy of a special offer from DoorDash, and Violet’s favorite Ube cupcakes, because what’s a birthday without a sweet treat? Fans will be able to customize their own DoorDash hot bag with Valkyries-inspired patches and get a picture with a life-sized Violet bobblehead. Of course, we will be singing "Happy Birthday" and the remainder of the night will be full of surprises.

In honor of Violet’s birthday, fans are encouraged to consider donating to the Golden State Community Foundation as their gift. Your support will help expand educational opportunities for Bay Area youth.
