The Golden State Valkyries bring a four-game winning streak to Ballhalla and will look to extend it when they host the Chicago Sky at Chase Center on Wednesday. The Sky have remained competitive despite being on the outside looking in on the playoff race. Chicago began the month by beating the Las Vegas Aces on a game-winning shot by standout undrafted rookie Sydney Taylor and are 3-2 since the return of DiJonai Carrington, who debuted after missing the first 27 games of the season due to a left foot strain she suffered in last year’s playoffs. Golden State has sole possession of second place in the WNBA standings, sitting 1.5 games ahead of the Aces and needs just three wins to clinch a spot in the WNBA playoffs.

Vi hatched out of a violet egg outside Chase Center and was first introduced to Ballhalla during the Valkyries’ game against the Connecticut Sun last season. Violet is a raven, and in Norse mythology, ravens are commonly known as Valkyries’ helpful, savvy sidekick and are guardians of good fortune. Cecilia Zandalasini made a season-high five 3-pointers and shot a perfect 5-for-5 from behind the arc in the Valkyries’ 84-78 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday. Zandalasini became the first player in Valkyries’ franchise history to make at least five 3-pointers in a game without a miss and came one 3-pointer shy of a WNBA record for most 3-pointers without a miss (6 3PM). Zandalasini (15 PTS) was the highest of four Valkyries to score in double figures, joined by Tiffany Hayes (14 PTS), Gabby Williams (11 PTS) and Kayla Thornton (11 PTS). The Valkyries led by as many as 19 points and never trailed, even though they had their deficit trimmed to as little as one point in the fourth quarter.
