The Valkyries have a packed month of June with eight of their 12 games this month in Ballhalla, half of which are Commissioner’s Cup matchups.

The WNBA conducted its annual General Manager survey and the Valkyries ranked first in several categories, including best defensive team, most impactful player acquisition and biggest homecourt advantage.

The vibes were high for Valkyries Media Day, presented by Sephora, as Golden State gears up for their second season in franchise history.

The Valkyries will play five of their eight games in May at Chase Center, headlined by star-studded matchups against multi-time All-Star Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on May 28 and four-time MVP A’ja Wilson and the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces on May 31. 

Building on the success of their first season, the Valkyries want to continue raising the bar with new expectations, while retaining the continuity they built by bringing back the majority of their core. 

The Golden State Valkyries made three selections at the 2026 WNBA Draft, presented by CarMax, with Marta Suarez (TCU) selected 16th overall, Ashlon Jackson (Duke) selected 23rd overall, and Kokoro Tanaka (Japan) selected 38thoverall.

The Valkyries made a huge splash this offseason, bringing in All-Star forward Gabby Williams. Williams is a monumental signing as she joins the Valkyries after the best season of her career — she averaged career highs in points (11.6 PPG) and assists (4.2 APG), led the league in steals (2.3 SPG), made her first All-Star team and was on the All-Defensive First Team.

The Valkyries will be playing preseason basketball less than a month from now, but there are several notable league events between now and then, including the Expansion Draft, Free Agency and the WNBA Draft.

Although the Valkyries' season has concluded, the action continues for the team's athletes. This past week, four Valkyries participated in the FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament. 

The Valkyries had four players participate in the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament and all four helped their respective countries qualify for the 2026 FIBA World Cup.
