Valkyries vs. Aces: A Look Back at their 2026 Regular Season Matchups

The Golden State Valkyries are heading into the semifinals of the 2026 WNBA Playoffs against the Las Vegas Aces starting on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at Chase Center. The Valkyries fell to the Aces in their three games during in the first half of the season and faced them on the road twice. The five-game semifinal series will open with two games in Ballhalla, giving the Valkyries an early home court advantage.

June 21: Valkyries 73 - Aces 91

In their final matchup of the regular season, the Valkyries fell 92-73 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena. Kaitlyn Chen made her defender lose a shoe with a highlight crossover move and sank one of the Valkyries’ few 3-pointers. Chen (11 points) was one of four Valkyries to score in double figures and made one of their five 3-pointers as Golden State shot just 5-for-30 from behind the arc. The Aces had five players in double figures led by Jackie Young’s 21 points, A’ja Wilson’s 19 points and nine rebounds and 15 points and nine assists from Chelsea Gray. >>Full Story

June 6: Valkyries 79 - Aces 84

Gabby Williams' offensive efforts led to a then career-high 27 points in this close 84-79 loss to the Las Vegas Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena. The Valkyries were in it till the end, looking to protect their one-point lead with 38 seconds remaining after Veronica Burton banked in a left-handed layup. The Aces' Jackie Young responded by draining her sixth 3-pointer of the game with 24 seconds left, and the Valkyries were unable to come back. Williams made a game-high 10 field goals, shooting 10-for-17 from the field, 3-for-7 from behind the arc and 4-for-5 from the foul line. May 31: Valkyries 81 - Aces 91

The Valkyries battled until the end in this 91-81 loss at Chase Center, going on an 11-0 fourth-quarter run and pulling within single digits with less than a minute remaining. Gabby Williams and Kayla Thornton each made four 3-pointers as the Valkyries outshot the Aces' from beyond the arc 16-8. Williams finished with 20 points, Thornton added 12 points and Janelle Salaün paced all reserves with 16 points. A'ja Wilson led the way for the Aces with a game-high 28 points and 15 rebounds, while All-Star Jackie Young chipped in 23 points and a game-best five 3-pointers. >>Full Story
