Golden State Valkyries to Host Second Annual Pride Game This Friday

The Pride Game Caps Off Month-Long Pride Programming Celebrating The LGBTQ+ Community

The Golden State Valkyries will tip off their second annual Pride Game this Friday, June 26, at 7 p.m. against the Atlanta Dream, culminating a month of community events and celebrations with exclusive fan giveaways and game-day activations.

The Valkyries have announced the full lineup of fan activations and events for tomorrow's Pride game:

  • Giveaway: All attending fans will receive a Valkyries drawstring backpack featuring a Pride-themed Valkyries logo.
  • Thrive City Pride Celebration: Kicking off at 4:30 p.m., the pre-game celebration hosted by San Francisco Drag Laureate Per Sia will feature music by DJ Mama San, followed by live performances from The House of Kingdom! drag kings and drag queen shows by Oaklash. Fans will enjoy stilt walkers, a caricature artist, glitter hair braiding, sign and bracelet making with Violet, and photo opportunities at a rainbow swing and balloon arch, with DJ Mama San returning 45 minutes after the game ends for a nighttime celebration.
  • Merchandise: Valkyries Pride merchandise is available at the Golden State Shop, featuring a collaboration with queer-owned brand Peau de Loup (photos here; the collection is also available online at shop.valkyries.com), alongside curated items from Round21, Retired from Society, Sportiqe, Oaklandish, and other brands.
  • Halftime Show: A halftime performance by DJ LadyRyan and DJ Dyop, featuring Sasha Colby.

The Valkyries are participating in Bay Area Pride parades and celebrations throughout the summer, including the Sacramento Pride Festival and March (June 14), the San Francisco Pride Parade (June 28), the Oakland Pride Parade (August 16), and the Silicon Valley Pride Parade and Festival (August 30).

Additionally, the Valkyries are a proud sponsor of the 50th San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival (Frameline50), the longest running and most widely recognized queer film festival in the world. Frameline50’s programming includes over 140 films, including sports documentaries like The Brittney Griner Story and Give Me the Ball!, a film about Billie Jean King.

The Valkyries were recently recognized for their LGBTQ+ community support with several prestigious honors, including the Community Leadership Award at the 2026 San Francisco Equality Awards, hosted by Equality California. Additionally, the team received the Vanguard Award at the National Center for LGBTQ Rights’ Champions for Justice 2026 Gala, as well as the Community Ally Award at the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club's 50th Anniversary Gayla.
