WINGS BATTLE BACK
After outscoring Dallas 37-11 in the second quarter in Game 1, it was the Wings who came out firing in the second quarter on Wednesday, outscoring the Valkyries 27-19 in the frame, with the Wings taking a 5-point lead into halftime.
Dallas' 27-point quarter was their highest scoring quarter of the series on near-perfect shooting splits, shooting 8-for-12 from the field, 5-for-5 from 3-point range and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Alysha Clark led the Wings with nine bench points in the quarter, knocking down all three of her 3-point attempts, surpassing her season total of made threes in a game in just one quarter.
KAILA'S SEVEN STRAIGHT
Kaila Charles scored seven points in 61 seconds to close out the third quarter for the Valkyries, giving them a two-point lead heading into the final frame. Kaila's first two points came off hustling for the offensive rebound and being fouled by Paige Bueckers near the rim, and making both free throws. She then knocked out a corner 3-pointer off a Kaitlyn Chen assist. And then finally for her sixth and seven points, Charles raced down the court in 5.3 seconds to hit a lay-up at the buzzer.
Charles finished the game with 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting in 23 minutes before fouling out in overtime.
