The Golden State Valkyries defeated the Toronto Tempo 92-81 on Tuesday night at Chase Center. Janelle Salaün continued to showcase her offensive scoring ability, tallying a team-high 21 points and outscoring Toronto's bench by eight points.
As a team, the Valkyries had five players in double figures, with Kayla Thornton recording a season-high 20 points. Veronica Burton stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

VALKS TURN THE TIDE
After trailing the Tempo by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, the Valkyries went on a dominant 23-4 scoring run that brought them within one point of the lead going into halftime and continued into the third quarter to give them a 48-42 advantage. In that span, Toronto was held to a 1-for-8 field goal and conceded six turnovers.
SALAÜN'S ENCORE
Janelle Salaün scored 21 points in the win, marking the second time in her career she's scored 20 points in back-to-back games. Locked in from deep, she knocked down four 3-pointers and shot an effective 67 percent from the field in the contest.
Salaün has averaged 23.6 points per game against Toronto, her highest scoring average against any opponent in her career. Most notably, she set a career-high 26 points in their first meeting on July 8.

THORNTON'S STRONG PERFORMANCE
Kayla Thornton was an offensive threat from the jump, draining back-to-back three pointers just thirty seconds apart in the first quarter. Continuing to score in a multitude of ways, Thornton shot 6-for-10 from the field and made four triples to finish the contest with a season-high 20-points.

WILLIAMS REACHES 2,000 CAREER POINTS
Gabby Williams hit a milestone, surpassing 2,000 career points after a driving layup in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter in Tuesday's game.
Williams ended the game with 10 points, marking the 19th time this season she has reached double figures, to go along with seven rebounds on the night.
SEASON SERIES COMPLETE
The Golden State Valkyries completed their regular season slate against the Toronto Tempo with a sweep, winning all three matchups.

- The Valkyries and Chase Freedom raised $98,000 for the Golden State Community Foundation across the team's August 2 and August 4 wins against the Toronto Tempo. The games were played on the Valkyries’ first-ever custom court at Ballhalla, and the only co-branded partner court in the WNBA this season thus far, with Chase Freedom donating $1,000 for every basket made by the Valkyries during the two-game slate.
