The Valkyries head to New York for the second night of a back-to-back against the Liberty on Thursday. Thursday’s game completes the Valkyries’ first back-to-back set of the season. They will have one more back-to-back after the FIBA World Cup break, hosting the Portland Fire on Sept. 18 and the Seattle Storm on Sept. 19.

The Liberty are loaded with star power, headlined by eight-time All-Star Breanna Stewart, six-time All-Star Jonquel Jones and four-time All-Star Sabrina Ionescu. Jones was the MVP of the 2026 All-Star Game and was the Finals MVP when the Liberty won the championship in 2024. The Valkyries will host the 2027 AT&T All-Star Game at Chase Center and had their first All-Star starter in franchise history this season with Gabby Williams.
