The Valkyries have lost their first nine matchups against the Lynx and look to end the streak when they have their 10th head-to-head meeting in Minnesota on Monday. The Lynx will enter Monday’s game on a six-game winning streak and owning the WNBA’s best record. The Valkyries head to Minnesota having lost consecutive games for the first time since around the All-Star break, when they were defeated by the Washington Mystics right before the break on July 20 and by the Phoenix Mercury in the first game back on July 29.

The Valkyries battled back from a 21-point deficit, but Chicago Sky guard Sydney Taylor drained the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.6 seconds left, spoiling Golden State’s comeback efforts and handing them a 73-70 loss at Wintrust Arena on Friday. Laeticia Amihere led the way for the Valkyries with a career-high 16 points and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field. Janelle Salaün added 13 points off the bench, becoming the single-season leader in total points scored by a reserve. The Valkyries' reserves outscored the Sky's bench by 39 points, 51-12, but they were unable to overcome four Chicago starters scoring in double figures. Taylor scored 14 points and was a plus-15 in 18 minutes for the Sky, while Natasha Cloud matched Golden State's total for made 3-pointers going a perfect 5-for-5 from behind the arc and leading all scorers with 17 points. » Full Game Recap
