Valkyries Holiday Assist presented by Kaiser Permanente
The Golden State Valkyries are proud to launch Valkyries Holiday Assist presented by Kaiser Permanente, an initiative dedicated to supporting communities in Oakland, San Francisco, and the Bay Area through special events, volunteering, donations, and community partnerships that bring joy and support during the holiday season.
For the program’s inaugural year, the Golden State Valkyries are focused on addressing food insecurity and spreading joy, guided by our community pillars of Wellness and Economic Development. The Valkyries believe in the power of what’s possible, and are committed to providing resources, rallying our partners, and bringing a better tomorrow closer.

The Golden State Valkyries are hosting a positive and engaging feast-themed “ValksGiving” event for local youth and families, fostering community connection while celebrating the spirit of the holiday season with the Golden State Valkyries guests.
Harvest Resource Fair

In Commemoration of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, the annual Food Drive and Resource Fair serves to provide support for families experiencing food insecurity during the Thanksgiving season.
Bob Ross LGBTQ Senior Center: Holiday Cheer
Wednesday, Nov. 18 and Wednesday Dec. 2
The food insecurity program is every Wednesday. GSV and Season Ticket Holders the opportunity to volunteer to pack food during the morning shift, 10:00am- 12:00pm. This is where GSV will pack food bags and distribute them to the residents and to neighborhood routes.
Winter Fest Food Justice & Sovereignty

The Booker T. Washington Community Center champions Food Justice & Sovereignty, feeding thousands in our community through programs that prioritize dignity, respect, and fresh, culturally relevant foods. This commitment is showcased at their annual holiday events, which provide a soulful holiday meal and vital resources. The celebration offers a joyful "shopping" experience where families can select food and household goods. This event ensures the surrounding community feels supported and celebrated during the holiday season at BTWCC.
Grocery Shopping Spree

Golden State Valkyries as we team up with HomeRise for an empowering Grocery Shopping Spree dedicated to supporting our local community. We are treating 8 to 10 resident families to an all-expenses-paid spree to stock their pantries with fresh, nutritious food and household essentials. Valkyries players and staff will shop side-by-side with families, sharing smiles, offering a helping hand, and building meaningful connections. Together, we are proud to champion food security and bring vibrant energy, support, and joy to our Bay Area neighbors.
GLIDE Volunteer Day
Sunday, Dec. 15
This holiday season, the Golden State Valkyries are teaming up with Ronald McDonald House Charities to bring comfort, cheer, and essential support to pediatric patients and their families across the Bay Area! As part of the Valkyries Holiday Assist initiative, team staff and volunteers will host a special Thursday takeover at Ronald McDonald House. Together, volunteers will decorate and stock a custom Valkyries-themed Hospitality Cart with high-need, holiday-themed snack packs and team goodies to roll through hospital floors and greet young patients directly. Onsite, another group of volunteers will transform the RMHC Family Room into a festive space and host a warm holiday dinner for staying families. Ronald McDonald House distributes over 12,000 essential kits annually across Oakland, Stanford, and regional partner hospitals, and this high-energy takeover ensures caregivers and kids feel the full warmth and joy of the Valkyries community during the holidays.
